Ghanaian animator Comfort Arthur aims for the top

Ghanaian animator Comfort Arthur made history as the first Ghanaian to win the Best Animation award at the latest edition of the African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) held in December 2020 with her web series ‘I’m Living in Ghana, Get Me Out of Here.’
The series take a comical look at her experiences after moving back to Ghana from London and how she struggled to fit into the system.
Comfort Arthur won after four failed attempts to secure a win in the Best Animation category.
She told the Daily Graphic that her feat was a win for Ghana as “it puts the spotlight on the animation industry, which has not enjoyed a lot of attention in the creative space.
