Troops capture 8 lawless group members, seize 14 guns in North Cotabato firefight
Joint military and police operatives successfully apprehended eight lawless elements and confiscated 14 high-powered firearms after engaging in a five-minute firefight in Kudarangan village, Midsayap, North Cotabato. Led by Sukarno Madidis Tayuan, the lawless group attacked the troops of the 34th Infantry Battalion and policemen who were conducting a joint security patrol. The operation aimed to prevent further escalation of an armed clash between two warring groups in the area. The captured individuals and seized firearms were turned over to the Midsayap Municipal Police Station. Lieutenant General William Gonzales commended the collaboration between the 34IB and the police, emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace and resolving disputes in the community.
