PETALING JAYA: The government is committed to implementing automatic registration for new voters and Undi 18 from Jan 1 next year, says the Prime Minister.
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 30 Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that the voting age for Malaysians will be lowered from 21 to 18 starting Jan 1 next year in accordance with the decision made by the Kuching High Court in Sarawak previously. He said the Cabinet had decided not to appeal.
KUCHING, Oct 27 The rush in calling the next state election with the intention to avoid the implementation of Undi18 could be considered as voter suppression. For the record, Undi18 refers the constitutional amendment Bill meant to allow those aged 18 to 20 to vote in elections. In pointing.
