Toll hike postponement to cost govt over RM2bil in 2021, says MHA

PETALING JAYA: The postponement of toll hikes this year will extend to 20 highways and two bridges - including the SMART Tunnel - and will cost the government over RM2bil, says the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA). In a statement issued on Saturday (May 1), the MHA said the government would have to pay RM2.093bil to postpone hikes in toll charges this year. In line with the government s decision, consumers will continue to enjoy toll payments at a lower rate compared to the toll rates under the concession agreements. Consumers will also continue to enjoy quality facilities and services along the highways, the MHA said.

EcoWorld debuts Co-Home in Klang Valley, Penang

EcoWorld Development Group Bhd will be unveiling new Co-Home units at its Eco Grandeur township in Bandar Puncak Alam, Selangor, and Eco Horizon township in Bandar Cassia, Penang, in the next two months. Both townships are joint-venture projects with the Employees Provident Fund (EPF). At Eco Grandeur, the developer is planning to launch the first 264 of the total 484 Co-Home units located within the 81-acre Regent Garden residential collection of the township in early April. The leasehold project has a gross development value (GDV) of RM228 million and will offer 12 three-bedroom, two-bathroom layouts, with built-ups ranging from 1,001 to 1,109 sq ft. Prices start from RM395,000 and the monthly maintenance fee is estimated at 15 sen psf.

OIB to unveil Myra Alam Phase 3 in Puncak Alam next month

Oriental Interest Bhd (OIB) plans to launch Phase 3 the last phase of terraced homes of Myra Alam in Puncak Alam, Selangor, in March. According to head of marketing and branding Ken Goh, buyers’ lifestyles and preferences change overtime, so the concept for these homes is based on individuality, whereby the developer will provide customisable layouts to suit the current trend. “These homes will have larger built-ups than in previous phases. They will come with a bedroom on the ground floor that can be converted into a home office, study, or media or theatre room,” he says. Occupying a four-acre leasehold parcel, Phase 3 has a gross development value (GDV) of RM44.1 million and will comprise 65 two-storey terraced homes. Due for completion in 2023, the 4-bedroom and 3-bathroom units will measure 20ft by 70ft or 22ft by 70ft, with built-ups of 2,002 to 2,396 sq ft. Prices start from RM554,000.

City of Elmina projects see good response, Hevea homes to be launched

Elmina Green Three Phase B (EG3B) in the City of Elmina, Shah Alam, has achieved a take-up rate of 68% since it was launched in July, while Phase 2 of the i3 semidee factories in the township, launched in September,  are 80% taken up. The developer, Sime Darby Property Bhd (SDP), will be launching its Hevea project in the Elmina Gardens precinct. With a gross development value (GDV) of RM158 million, EG3B will comprise 194 two-storey extended linkhomes with column-free car porches. Due to be completed in July 2022, the freehold homes will come in layouts of 4-bedrooms and 4-bathrooms or 4+1-bedroom and 4 en-suite bathrooms, with built-ups of 2,265 to 2,983 sq ft. Prices start from RM714,499.
