Civil society group lodges police report over alleged false claims against Archbishop of KL

PETALING JAYA: A civil society group lodged a police report against a Facebook group for allegedly falsely claiming that a Christian leader insulted Muslims. North-South Initiative executive director and co-founder Adrian Pereira, who lodged the police report, said that the Hud Hud Crew Facebook page had posted an audio clip of Catholic Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur Julian Leow Beng Kim where it alleged that he said he wanted to “boil Muslims like frogs”. In the police report on Friday (April 30), Pereira said that at no point in the audio clip had Leow made any comments, insulted or made any reference whatsoever to any religion.

Picture by Firdaus Latif SHAH ALAM, Dec 25 The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has not dampened the Christmas spirit and spiritual obligations of the faithful, as Catholics nationwide got together and attended Christmas Mass virtually for the first time since the virus broke out almost a year ago. Following government restrictions imposed on congregations, Kuala Lumpur Archbishop Julian Leow Beng Kim nonetheless delivered his sermon and read scriptures in Bahasa Malaysia to rows of empty pews at the Church of Divine Mercy here through a camera set up on the church’s second floor.
