THREE years since students at Universiti Malaya (UM) started conducting campus elections on their own, the student body has reportedly shown a marked difference in their political awareness.
The Jalan Manis area is one of the busiest in Cheras. A commercial centre in Taman Segar, it is bounded by Jalan Manis, Jalan Manis 1, Jalan Manis 2, Jalan Manis 3, Jalan Manis 4, Jalan Manis 5, Jalan Manis 6 and Jalan Manis 7. Developed by PPB Hartabina Sdn Bhd, this commercial centre consists of 3- and 3½-storey shopoffices, Cheras LeisureMall and Cheras Plaza.
The area is known for its food offerings such as Anna Elizabeth The Deli, Dragon Door Steamboat, Kaki Bola XO Fish Head Noodle, Ahroy Thai Cuisine and Restoran Makanan Teow Chew.
According to MacReal International Sdn Bhd associate director Gan Boon How, the Jalan Manis area is located off Jalan Cheras in Taman Segar and about 9km southeast of the Kuala Lumpur city centre, which is under the jurisdiction of Kuala Lumpur City Hall.
