CATL, the world s largest battery supplier, has developed new electrolyte materials that could improve charging efficiency of existing lithium-ion battery designs by 50% in extreme cold, according to CATL s chief scientist, Wu Kai. Moreover, the new electrolyte can give a 43% boost under normal temperatures.
