KSU Police receive national accreditation

The Kent State University Police Department was recently awarded national accreditation for the ninth time by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc. in the Law Enforcement program.
The department was presented for review at CALEA’s 2020 Conference after four annual documentation reviews and a site-based assessment of community engagement, policy, procedures, equipment and facilities by CALEA assessors.
The CALEA Commission voted to approve reaccreditation of the department Nov. 13. CALEA’s president and executive director will formally award the department with accreditation, signifying excellence in public safety and commitment to community.
