BJP Karnataka State President BY Vijayendra expressed optimism in resolving internal conflicts within the party, including those involving veteran leader KS Eshwarappa. Eshwarappa, disappointed over his son s denied ticket, accused BS Yediyurappa of favoring family politics. Despite tensions, Vijayendra affirmed unity under PM Modi s leadership. The BJP is facing internal rebellions over candidate selections, with some threatening to contest independently. Senior leaders, including Yediyurappa, are actively addressing these issues to ensure party unity ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.
“Both father (Yediyurappa) and son (BJP state president B Y Vijayendra) had told me that my son will get the ticket,” he said, noting that Yediyurappa's elder son Raghavendra in an MP from Shimoga and the younger son B Y Vijayendra is an MLA from Shikaripura.
The Supreme Court has stayed the proceedings of a criminal case against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and others who participated in a protest march two years ago. The court also stayed the proceedings against present Ministers Ramalinga Reddy and MB Patil, and AICC general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala. The Karnataka High Court s order, which imposed fines on the accused, was also stayed. The CM s lawyers argued that the case violated the right to protest and that the protest was peaceful.
