University professor kroll abrams teaches a class on American Culture during the Great Depression. He describes changes to family life the role of religion and the rise of hollywood films. He also talks about new deal programs such as the civilian conservation corps and Social Security. This class is about 50 minutes. Prof. Abrams we have talked about big events in our survey of history, and they are obviously important. We have started our one in our last class, i think we met last friday, we dealt with the new deal. We have talked about the economic and political aspects of the Great Depression. But what i want to do today is to show that the Great Depression is a big event and has influences and consequences that go beyond just politics and the stock market crash. I will try to spend our time divided evenly among these three aspects of American Culture in the 1930s. How does it affect the family .
