Following the rise in Covid-19 cases, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is setting up a field hospital in the compound of Bang Khunthian Geriatric Hospital with 500-600 beds to treat infected people.
Located in the Bang Khunthian area on the outskirts of Bangkok, a section of the newly built hospital will be used to accommodate the asymptomatic infected or those with mild symptoms.

Rapid-result testing will be used to detect Covid-19 infections in Samut Sakhon while more beds will be arranged at a field hospital which is providing treatment to infected patients.
Samut Sakhon governor Veerasak Vijitsaengsri said on Friday that he has ordered the testing method to be changed to ensure quick results and cover all at-risk groups of Thais and migrants in the province.

A field hospital has been opened at the now-infamous shrimp market in Samut Sakhon, despite strong objections from local people.
The hospital has 30 beds and is now almost complete, ready to provide treatment for Covid-19 patients with mild symptoms. Those more seriously ill will be sent to normal hospitals.
Permanent secretary for public health Kiattiphum Wongrajit and his entourage on Thursday visited the hospital to follow up on the Covid-19 situation in the area, which has become a hotspot of new infections among mostly migrant workers.
