LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) â When June 11 arrives and weâre all allowed to ditch the masks inside and outside, whether weâre vaccinated or not, store owners will be treading on a thin layer of ice. And in June, that layer will be
very thin.
âSome store may decide to keep the mask mandate beyond June 11
and thatâs their decision to make,â said Steve McClain from the Kentucky Retail Federation in Frankfort.
One shop owner tells LEX-18 she is dreading having to make this decision because as she said, there is no right or wrong answer. Either choice will anger one-half of her client base.
Clinton County reaches COVID-19 vaccination milestone: More residents vaccinated with first dose than reported cases

WILMINGTON – The number of Clinton County residents vaccinated with their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine now exceeds the total number of known reported cases of the virus, according to the Clinton County Health District.
On Monday, Feb. 8, the number of vaccinated Clinton Countians reached 3,200 residents while the total number of known cases is currently 3,190 since last March.
The total percentage of the population now vaccinated with one dose is 7.62%. The number of individuals that have completed their second dose is 763 (1.82%). Both the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines are a two-dose series with a 94% and a 95% efficacy, respectively.

Gov. Mike DeWine told Ohioans during his Thursday briefing that a higher rate of doses of COVID-19 vaccine are on the way.
“Moderna doses have increased from 73,200 two weeks ago to 105,600 coming to Ohio next week,” he said. “We believe Moderna vaccine shipments will expand as well.
