Friends, family demand answers after deadly officer-involved shooting in Cañon City
CAÑON CITY, Colo. (KRDO) The friends and family of Dustin Buckholz and Kriton Phillips are demanding answers from the Cañon City Police Department after officers fired at the two men in a hotel parking lot, killing Buckholz and injuring Phillips.
Witnesses from the shooting, which happened in the parking lot of the Quality Inn & Suites in Canon City on May 1st, said it wasn t initially clear that people firing were police. They said the police officers were in plain clothes and were driving an unmarked car.
