Pound Paws Rescue is based in Oamaru, but covers farther afield, having rehomed dogs from Nelson to Winton. Pound Paws founder, Charmaine McLaren, said the move was a lovely surprise which she discovered when the restaurant tagged the charity in their social media post. McLaren said the organisation is running at full capacity, with 19 dogs currently in its care, including a four-week-old puppy being hand reared and a pregnant huntaway left chained up on a farm.
