A coalition between the Conservative People's Party of Estonia (EKRE) and Eesti 200 following next spring's general election is out of the question, the latter's new leader, Lauri Hussar says, even were EKRE to make an offer.
While Prime Minister Kaja Kallas (Reform) remains firmly in first place in a recent leadership poll, Conservative People's Party of Estonia (EKRE) leader Martin Helme has caught up with Center's leader, Jüri Ratas, and there is now nothing to choose between the two, daily Eesti Päevaleht (EPL) reports.
Lauri Hussar, the recently elected chair of Eesti 200, has responded to criticism that, as a middle-aged man he is no different from other party leaders, by saying that his team would welcome smart women and men regardless of their skin color, gender or sexual orientation.
Lauri Hussar, the recently elected chair of Eesti 200, said that if CO2 quotas on electricity generated using oil shale, along with some other taxes were removed, it would be possible to sell electricity in Estonia at six cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh). Answering questions on Postimees live show "Otse Postimehest," Hussar said that the three-cent electricity price promised by EKRE was a pipe dream.
