Here’s why you should vote
A record number of Americans voted in the 2020 Election. The League of Women Voters (Utica/Rome area) encourages everyone to keep that momentum for the 2021 elections. This November we will be electing many local officials. These votes may be more important to you than those in 2020. Why? They are more likely to affect your day-to-day activities, such as local taxes, public safety and education, to name a few. Your local officials are more accountable to you, since you can comment on their actions directly through open meetings and phone calls. Many federal policies originate at the local level, affirming the adage that “all politics is local.”
