RIDGEFIELD With the pandemic still raging and families prepared to deal with the continuous transitions between in-person, hybrid, and full-distance learning, the Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield teamed up with the schools to create a new offering.
Club Hub gives students a place to complete their virtual learning during the school day under the supervision of the Boys & Girls Club’s youth development professionals and support staff. The club leadership decided to launch it after seeing a need to support families through the changing learning models.
BGCR and Partnering Organizations Spread Holiday Cheer Written by Boys & Club of Ridgefield
In the spirit of the season, the Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield and partnering organizations have been busy trying to spread some much-needed cheer through recent holiday Club events.
On Thanksgiving, the Club partnered with Meals on Wheels to provide families with take-out Thanksgiving dinners from Dimitri’s Diner. 124 pre-made and ready to eat dinners were provided to Club families and included Stuffed Roast Vermont Turkey with cranberry stuffing, sweet potatoes, fresh vegetables, tossed salad, and, of course, pumpkin pie for dessert. “A special BGCR Thank You to our friends at Meals on Wheels for organizing this generous and delicious gift to our Club families!” said Kristin Goncalves, Associate Executive Director at the Club.
