Maternity staff welcomed two girls and a boy on January 1. At about 3am, a baby girl arrived, weighing in at just over 8Ib 6oz. Autumn Dahlia Hill was the first baby born on the Isle of Wight in 2021, to parents Kristie West and Julian Hill. Sharing a gorgeous picture with the Isle of Wight County Press (click on the link above), the family said: We have a very healthy baby and mummy. At around 9:40am, Ruby Rose was delivered safely to East Cowes couple Rachael and Rupert, weighing 6Ib 4oz. And just after midday, Faye and Aaron from Newport welcomed their son into the world, weighing 6lb 11oz.
Autumn was born to parents Kristie West and Julian Hill at St Mary s Hospital this morning. She arrived at 2.57am and weighed 8lb 6.5oz. The family said: We have a very healthy baby and mummy. The hospital is expected to announce any other New Year s Day arrivals this weekend. Meanwhile, the maternity services department has been looking back at 2020, when nearly 1,000 babies were delivered on the Isle of Wight. There were 989 births 491 girls and 498 boys including 11 sets of twins. Of those, 26 were home births and 47 were water births. The heaviest baby weighed in at 11lb 9oz.
