566 days. That is how long had passed since the last time OL Reign played a match at Cheney Stadium in the presence of their fans. That was so long ago that back then the club was known as Reign FC. It was a gap no one could have ever imagined, but finally, OL Reign welcomed fans back to Cheney Stadium as they began their 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup campaign against the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup champions, Houston Dash.

With a year under the helm of Farid Benstiti, the Reign are looking to improve on the club’s seventh-place finish in 2020.

OL Reign signs Miranda Nild, goalkeeper Ella Dederick

Miranda Nild has secured a first team contract after spending last season on the reserve roster.
OL Reign announced the signing of Nild and goalkeeper Ella Dederick to one-year contracts on Monday. However, Nild isn’t planning on staying in the United States. Instead, the club announced that she will be loaned to Kristianstads DFF in Sweden until Dec. 31, 2021.
She will miss the entire NWSL season, including the upcoming NWSL Challenge Cup.
Nild was notably on the Thailand women’s national team for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup. She started and featured the full 90 minutes for Thailand in all three of their group stage matches.
