But Oregon already prioritized teachers, authorizing vaccinations Jan. 25 even as seniors were forced to wait until Feb. 8 through March 1 for their turns. Oregon is now significantly behind states like California and Washington in its rate of vaccinations among seniors.

Elderly Oregonians report positive experiences receiving COVID-19 vaccines through local pharmacies Updated Feb 16, 2021; Posted Feb 16, 2021 The federal government sent roughly 12,000 vaccine doses to more than 120 Costco, Health Mart, Safeway and Albertsons pharmacies in 27 of Oregon’s 36 counties last week.Photo courtesy Google Streetview Facebook Share Michael Ransom learned that Costco would be offering COVID-19 vaccinations on Feb. 6 through a post on neighborhood website Nextdoor. He immediately went to the warehouse club’s website to try to sign up. Within 20 minutes he had scheduled vaccinations for both himself and his wife at the Clackamas Costco near their home. Ransom, 75, received his first vaccination at Costco on Monday. His wife, Carol, will receive hers next week.
