In an emotional ceremony, grieving residents released butterflies this week at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital to honor, remember and celebrate the lives of deceased loved ones.
DECATUR â Hospice organizations around the country use the butterfly image as a symbol of peace.
The event was held to honor the families of loved ones who have passed away. Fourteen names were read aloud.Â
Registered nurse Kisty Cox attended the ceremony in hopes of reconnecting with her hospice patientsâ family members. âI keep in touch with a lot of them anyway,â she said. âBut itâs nice to see them outside of the grieving process.â
