Now Caruana and Firouzja are sharing the lead with David Howell, while no fewer than ten players are standing only a half point back the fight for the two spots in the next edition of the Candidates has heated up considerably! Tournament leader, 18-year old Alireza Firouzja scored another victory in the Grand Swiss in Riga. He won as White against Krishnan Sasikiran securing that he alone is at the top before Round Nine
Both sections of the FIDE Chess.com Grand Swiss have sole leaders going into round 8 (out of 11).
