Jamshedpur/Ranchi: With the government yet to allow coaching centres to operate in the state, owners of 35 private tuition centres sat on a protest at Aam Bagan in Sakchi area of Jamshedpur on Saturday. Although many sectors have been allowed to resume operations, coaching centres have remained locked since the nationwide lockdown was imposed in March last year.
Agitating under the banner of Jamshedpur Coaching Sangh, the owners demanded private tuition centres to be allowed to reopen as “they are cash-strapped”. Meanwhile, state health minister Banna Gupta assured them that he will take up the matter with chief minister Hemant Soren.
