Architect Ian Burrow designed this Castor Bay house in the 70s. He was invited back 40 years later to oversee a major renovation.
Houses designed by architect Ian Burrow take their cue from nature, with strong, sculptural forms making each house unique. This ‘70s house for sale in Castor Bay, Auckland, is no exception. It comprises a series of linked hexagonal pods. And because it is elevated, with hexagonal decks, it is often referred to as “the treehouse”. But this house is also remarkable for being worked on by the architect twice – 40 years after the house was built, the current owners called him back to design a major renovation.
