Casual Japanese dining arrives in Skye Canyon

While the Skye Canyon Marketplace waits for the arrival of iconic California diner Big Boy on the southwestern end of the retail center, long promised Japanese restaurant Sakura Ya debuts on the opposite side of the parking lot, a short distance from the entrance to the Smith’s grocery store.
A rare Japanese dining option in the far northwest, currently only served by Umami and Krazy Sushi on Durango Drive, Sakura Ya joins casual Asian-inspired restaurants Qwik Thai and China-a-GoGo at the Marketplace, offering takeout and delivery, and its own spin on lunch specials, including sushi and sashimi deals, and beef, chicken, or salmon bento boxes.
