Reporter it looked like a parade of cars on highway 24 this morning but it was a 20 car mess stranded in lafayette. Something was in the road. Bounced my car. It was violent. The culprit this medal in the number 3 lane on highway 24. Even though drivers couldnt see it they felt its wrath. Bounced on the road, came down real violent. I pulled to the side of the road like everybody else. There was a line of cars. Reporter he was maybe dozens of drivers that had to pull over. The right front end of his car came off the ground when he struck the metal, several other drivers got flat tires. A list of damages went on and on. I got front end damage, two flat tires, cut my gas line. Reporter the drivers were stranded for two hours waiting for tow trucks to arrive. With that many cars there werent enough trucks to move them. S for the metal, chp dont know what it was or where it came from. Unfortunately for the drivers it doesnt look like the city will be footing the bill, unless chp can find o
