An oilseeds extraction plant near CPEC’s flagship Rashakai SEZ is being established with a hefty amount of Rs. 600 million. This will be on the background of rising demand for vegetable oils in China and concessions granted to Pakistani exporters under the China-Pakistan Free Trade Agreement-II.
A report published by Gwadar Pro on Tuesday says China has eliminated tariffs on 313 major export items from Pakistan under the upgraded FTA, which also includes various seed oils. The plant is being set up by Engineer Syed Mehmood. The first-of-its-kind facility in KP shows how big opportunities have been brought about by the China-driven investment to Pakistan’s smallest and second-most deprived province. The plant will be the second one of its nature in Pakistan, an official said.

PESHAWAR, Mar. 3 (Gwadar Pro) - Thousands of Chinese political and social leaders will be gathering in Beijing for routine annual meetings of two Parliamentary bodies on March 4.However, the “Two Sessions” this year, have significant importance both from Chinese and Pakistani perspectives.
The meetings are being held in the backdrop of an announcement by Chinese President Xi Jinping to have eradicated absolute poverty from the country 9 years ahead of the actual schedule. Also, the meetings are going to approve the new 5-year and 15-year plans, focusing technology as the main enhancer of the Chinese economy at home and its influence worldwide.
100 youths of Kurram, Orakzai complete skill training

PESHAWAR: One hundred youths from Kurram and Orakzai tribal districts were given certificates and tools after completion of a three-month skill training in various trades at the SRSP’s Human Resource Development Centre in Hayatabad on Thursday.
Special Assistant to Chief Minister for Excise and Taxation Ghazan Jamal distributed the certificates among the youth at a ceremony. Representatives of UNDP and Islamic Relief Pakistan were also present on the occasion. The project is part of the government initiatives to revive livelihoods of population in the merged districts
The UNDP, with financial assistance from the government of Japan, Sarhad Rural Support Programme and Islamic Relief Pakistan, engaged in a partnership to contribute to the government’s objectives.
