PESHAWAR: A seventh grader was laid to rest in Mullazai village on the Warsak Road here on Monday a day after he allegedly committed suicide in police custody.
Shah Zeb, a student of the Racines School, Warsak Road, was taken into custody by the West Cantonment police following his alleged brawl with a trader in Liaquat Bazaar.
His funeral prayers were attended by scores of people, including deputy speaker of KP Assembly Mahmood Jan and senior police officials.
According to a police report, the student was overpowered by traders and bazaar guards after he pointed his pistol at a shopkeeper during the brawl. The traders took him to the West Cantonment police station, where he was booked under Section 15 of the Arms Act and detained in the lockup. He allegedly committed suicide there afterward.
