Asian markets closed on a mixed note on Tuesday amidst anxiety ahead of crucial economic data. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index closed deep in the red ahead of PMI updates from China.
Korea offers the greatest earnings growth potential in the Asia-Pacific region next year, supported by a recovery in tech industry exports, Goldman Sachs said on Tuesday.
This year s initial public offerings (IPOs) made on Korea s main benchmark, the KOSPI, are expected to record the poorest performances in the past five years, due mainly to increased market volatility from soaring interest rates and unfavorable external conditions.
“For investors who are attracted to Korea because of either the broader economic fundamentals or the fundamentals of specific stocks, I dont think its going to be a major factor,” said Steven Schoenfeld, chief executive at MarketVector in New York. “On the margin, it will be a small negative.”
