The moral that Zelensky should have grasped was this: Well-entrenched regimes cannot be toppled by proxy wars and Vladimir Putin is several times more powerful than Assad ever was. Putin cannot be brought down by a proxy war.
Given the current state of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the crimes against humanity, it is recommended that normative recognition of war crimes as genocide should not be delayed any further.
