The University of Louisville and Kosair Charities announced a major milestone Wednesday in Kosair s 39-year history of funding children s health services and research.
Kosair, the largest charity in Kentucky, has now surpassed $50 million in funds it has donated for U of L-based programs, including child abuse medical services and cancer treatment and research.
The news was announced in a joint, online appearance by U of L President Neeli Bendapudi and Kosair Charities President Keith Inman.
The virtual event, held online because of COVID-19 pandemic concerns, featured a balloon drop as Inman and Bendapudi displayed an oversize check for $50 million while U of L physicians, staff and others on the Zoom call cheered and clapped.
