RENO, Nev. (AP) A man who pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and causing a deadly crash has been sentenced to 50 years in prison.
Eduardo Rodriguez-Viurquiz, 36, was sentenced this week in Washoe County District Court, the district attorney’s office announced Friday.
Rodriguez-Viurquiz, who is a citizen of Mexico, will be eligible for parole after serving at least 20 years. He’s expected to be deported once he’s released.
An investigation by the Nevada Highway Patrol found that Rodriguez-Viurquiz was speeding in the shoulder of Interstate 580 in Reno when he hit a vehicle that likely was pulled over because of mechanical problems.
