Taweesilp: Test comes back negative
The spokesman for the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) did a happy U-turn on Friday night after discovering he had not been infected with the virus as first feared.
CCSA spokesman Taweesilp Visanuyothin had earlier announced he would go into self-quarantine after coming into close contact with a TV anchor who was at high risk of contracting the virus.
When he gives his daily televised briefing at Government House, Dr Taweesilp is normally accompanied by Paveena Faktong, a commentator for the National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT) TV channel.
On Friday, however, he appeared alone and said Ms Paveena had been deemed to be at high risk of infection after a male news anchor at the same TV station contracted the virus.
