This past week, April 19 through April 25, Columbia Valley RCMP responded to 72 calls for service. The following is a summary of some of the files our officers responded to.
Motorhome forced off highway by careless driver
On Wednesday, April 21 at about 5:15 p.m., emergency crews responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 93 at the Kootenay Valley Lookout in Kootenay National Park. Witnesses reported the driver of a Dodge pickup attempted to pass a vehicle forcing an oncoming motorhome off the road and down an embankment. None of the occupants reported any injuries. The driver of the pickup was issued a violation ticket for driving without due care or attention, passing on a solid line and pass into oncoming traffic.
