Kong Nay is a master of the traditional Cambodian instrument known as a chapei dang veng. The 75-year-old, who has found international acclaim, is introducing a new generation of Cambodian artists to traditional music. He’s teamed up with Khmer-language rap star VannDa. Their song and video “Time to Rise” was shot at the national museum among ancient Angkor treasures. It’s a combination of time-tested tradition and the modern world.
