Corydon Central lead-off batter Jalen Fowler went 0-4 at the plate Friday night against South Central, but it wasn’t his bat that was utilized: it was his arm.
The sophomore twirler, nearly spinning out of his ball cap multiple times during his 4-1/3-inning, four-strikeout stint on the bump, limited visiting South Central to just two runs on four hits before leaving the game with a foot injury after one batter in the top of the fifth.

In 2014, the iPhone 6 had just been released and Barack Obama was president. Until last Tuesday night, it also was the same year South Central last beat Lanesville on the baseball diamond.
A five-run inning in the top of the eighth pushed South Central past the Eagles, 11-6, in a wild affair at Ed Jaegers Memorial Field. At one point, Lanesville led 5-0 before the visitors’ extra-inning rally.
