Carson City deputies make arrests for felony domestic battery, drugs and DUI

A 23-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday for felony suspicion of domestic battery by strangulation and a misdemeanor violation of a suspended sentence warrant, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Forest Service announces spring 2017 Lake Tahoe recreation area opening dates

The U.S. Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit will soon begin opening recreational facilities in the Lake Tahoe Basin. Weather and snow conditions permitting, Inspiration Point will be the first site to open on April 15, 2017.

Forest Service to open some Lake Tahoe area recreation facilities early

The U.S. Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit will open some recreational facilities on April 1 for the 2015 season. “With the spring-like weather we’ve been having, we’re shifting Forest resources to open gates and parking areas to provide access to our beaches, trails and roads, said Forest Supervisor Jeff Marsolais.
