DIMAPUR In a major boost to take forward social activities particularly to the downtrodden section of the society, the advisor to chief minister and chairman IDAN, Abu Metha, launched the Zaputuo-u Welfare Fund and handed over documents to the Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home (KODH) during a programme held on Tuesday. Speaking at the programme, Metha recalled his visit to the orphanage during its golden jubilee earlier this year as the special guest, wherein he assured to institute the Zaputuo-u Welfare Fund, an update from KODH stated. It stated that the welfare fund bank account is opened at Bank of Baroda. It would be operated by a board comprising the present mother of the home, Neibanuo, along with eminent personalities and people involved in social service. The aim of the fund was to create opportunities for the children of the home to pursue rewarding careers and excellence in various fields.
