Harbaugh’s latest coaching hire should also further bolster the Wolverines’ recruiting efforts in the state.
With assistant Maurice Linguist leaving for the head coaching job at Buffalo, Michigan has hired Kentucky defensive backs coach Steve Clinkscale for the same role in Ann Arbor.

Sam Webb just posted an article regarding Clink connecting with Kody Jones and the desire to pursue Myles Pollard. According to the article, Jones is a big fan of Clink and has verbally assured coach that he is still all-in. I think many view Jones as a huge cog in the Walter Nolan recruitment, but the article also goes on to state that Clink has assigned Kody the job of working on Myles Pollard, and that coach has not mentioned any other recruit names to Kody to help with, as of right now. I think this speaks to how high on the list Pollard is for this staff. In addition, Clink was Pollard s first offer back at Kentucky, and Pollard is quoted as saying Clink is very much family as well . Jones closes by confirming that Michigan is very high up on the list for Pollard.

Well, finally.
Sam Webb, Chris Balas, and others are reporting Michigan has come to terms with Kentucky defensive backs coach Steve Clinkscale to be the Wolverines new defensive pass game coordinator and defensive backs coach.
Michigan had one name on everybody’s lips when co-DC/cornerbacks coach Maurice Linguist, hired just last January, couldn’t pass up an opportunity to be the head coach of Buffalo. It was the same name bandied about before Linguist was hired. And the same name this site was all but banging the table for a year before that, when Chris Partridge departed for Ole Miss and Michigan ended up replacing him with Bob Shoop. It’s also one of very few names you could be reading at the top of this post that might actually make you feel better than Linguist did, especially when it came to guys Michigan could find in mid-May.

Michigan insider EJ Holland put out an article on Friday about the friendship between 2022 Michigan commit Kody Jones and Walter Nolan and the friendship between their dads. Kody and Walter have known each other since pee-wee league football. And they ve wanted to play together. They did play together one year. And their team did very well that year. Kody Jones dad, Keith, is putting the full court press on Walter Nolen s dad, Walter Sr.
“Every time he calls me or we talk, he says ‘you know, Walter would sure look good in that blue,’” Walter Sr. said with a laugh. “He tells me we already know what the move is and to come on over. I don’t know what’s going to happen, but every time we talk, if the conversation doesn’t start with blue, it’s going to end with blue.”
