If the Northeast Eaglesâ goal throughout the District 10-AAA tournament was to build confidence, their desire in the region is to simply find a way to win.
They were able to accomplish just that in the Region 5-AAA quarterfinals on Saturday, Feb. 27. The Eagles held off the No. 4 Lebanon Blue Devils by a final score of 60-50.
The Blue Devils were without sophomore leading scorer Jarred Hall, but found point production in a big way from forward Yarin Alexander. The junior scored at all three levels to keep the game within grabs and finished with a season-high 32 points.
âI just didnât think we had a good night tonight as far as executing,â said Northeast head coach Sam Young. âWe kind of went away from the things that got us to this point and (it) just wasnât one of our better nights. With that being said, we did find a way to win and move on. Thatâs one thing that we can be proud of, was that we found a way and get to continue to play next week.

MT. JULIET â The initial meeting between Wilson Central and host Green Hill was a battle for the first 10 minutes Friday night.
But the Hawks closed the first half with a 19-5 run and the third quarter on a 14-2 spurt to blow out the Wildcats 61-35.
Each team was without a starter. Senior captain Zach Blair missed the game for Green Hill while the Wildcats were without scoring leader Adler Kerr.
âNot having Kerr is a huge deal for them,â Green Hill coach Troy Allen said after his Hawks improved to 2-4 for the season and 2-1 in District 9-AAA. âHeâs a special player.
