VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Old Knox County records will be digitized by the Knox County Public Library.
The library received a $26,000 grant from the Indiana Historical Society that will be used to put old county information online. This decision is to make these centuries old documents more accessible to the public.
“We want to preserve these valuable books and other records while making the content available,” says Emily Bunyan, Knox County Library Director.
Some of the county information slated to be digitized dates back to the 18th century.
Hundreds of books containing information such as marriage licenses, deeds and wills will be placed in the online database.
