In November, Knoxville s Black voters turned out in numbers not seen since Barack Obama s first campaign as they worked to push forward on the progress made in the summer s racial uprisings.
In the aftermath of the Trump administration, the city s grassroots organizers plan to keep those voters motivated and to bring even more people to the polls in 2021 and beyond. We saw thousands of people show up for not only the election but a Juneteenth rally as we had never seen before, and these were key events where voting was the message.
