New Knox County voter ID cards contain error but no issues when it comes to voting

Voters in Knox County, outside of the City of Galesburg, may notice an error on their new voter ID cards. Knox County Clerk Scott Erickson announced Friday that the new ID cards contain all the proper information with just one exception. The Election Judge recruitment portion at the bottom of the form references Washington County instead of Knox County. Erickson says in a news release that all of the voter information is correct and, "there will be no issues with the cards when it comes to voting." He adds that the vendor of the cards just forgot to change their template to reference Knox County. Erickson says that voters have been contacting his office along with the Washington County Clerk's office about the glitch; but, he says that the voter information is correct and the Election Judge section was all that was affected. If the proposed Illinois House Bill 3878 passes through the Senate, all documents filed through any recorder of deeds office would increase from $9 to $18. The money collected by recorder of deeds offices goes directly into the state’s Rental Housing Support Program. What that program does, Tazewell County Clerk John Ackerman said, seems like a secret. “We’ve requested over the past several years [to know] where this revenue is going,” Ackerman said. “We never have been able to get from the State of Illinois a clear answer as to allocation of where all this funding is going.
