Changes to stamp duty now mean that buyers pay tax on home above £250,000. Over the past year the property tax was set at £500,000, but that was reduced to £250,000 on Friday July 1. The changes mean buyers will pay a tax of 5% of any property between £250,000 and £925,000.
There will be further changes next October when buyers will start paying a stamp duty of 2% on homes between £125,000 and £250,000. Online estate agents Purple Bricks has now featured five homes in Liverpool all below the £250,000 threshold. The homes, dotted across the city, feature a good mix of period and modern.
