The Ekiti State Government has entered into a partnership with the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission (NAEC) on the peaceful application of nuclear science and technology in the development of medicine, agriculture and other social-economic activities within the knowledge zone.
A memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to this effect by representatives of the State government and key principal officers of NAEC including its acting Chairman, Professor Yusuf Ahmed on Tuesday in Ado -Ekiti.
On the side of the government were, the Secretary to the State Government, Hon Biodun Oyebanji; Commissioner for Investment, Trade and Industries, Hon Muyiwa Olumilua; Director-General, Office of Transformation and Service Delivery, Prof Bolaji Aluko; Special Adviser, Knowledge Zone, Hon Femi Ajope, Special Adviser Governor’s Office, Hon Folusho Daramola; among others.

Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has said that the plans by the Nigerian Military to establish a Defence Space Communication Satellite Centre in the state in its drive to ensure adequate security and protection of Nigerians, was a welcome development.
Fayemi, who said that the benefits of the initiative to the state were enormous, said its proximity to the Knowledge Zone which his administration had been working on was an added advantage.
The governor, who spoke in Ado Ekiti on Thursday while receiving the Chief of Defense Space Administration, Rear Admiral Williams Kayoda, said, “What I can assure you is that for us, we are absolutely committed to ensuring that this works”.

49erfx crew Saskia Tidey from the Royal Irish Yacht Club in Dun Laoghaire Harbour will be among the British Sailing Team’s Tokyo 2020 athletes attractions at the RYA Dinghy Show as it goes virtual for the first time over the weekend of February 27 and 28.
They’ll feature within two days of talks, demonstrations and coaching sessions from some big names in sailing.
