The latest mass shooting in an American school should provoke action by Congress to ban the purchase of military-style assault weapons by ordinary people. But it probably won’t, and the country will endure yet more such horrors in the future.
Wicked Local
PLYMOUTH – It’s hard to tell who’s happier to be spreading out on the sidewalks: people or restaurants. Amid bright sun and 60-degree weather on Friday, dining al fresco was beginning to sprout along the downtown corridor.
“We’ve been cooped up too long,” said Kelly Pope as she finished her lunch in front of KKatie’s Burger Bar on Main Street Extension.
“We’re just doing our part to support local restaurants,” added her dining companion Rob Watts.
“This is what we have been waiting for,” said Katy Thayer, one of the owners of Uva Wine Bar on Main Street. “We’ve struggled through the winter. Now we have hope and optimism.”
