The traits typically used to describe trees leaves, twigs and buds are often hard to see or seasonally absent. Join Michael for an exploration of bark, which is always visible, in any season. Tree Mob: Dredging to Renew the Ponds: 6 p.m. April 28. To register: https://bit.ly/2PMlcNJ. Maintaining ponds is messy business. Join Associate Project Manager Danny Schissler to learn about the history and upcoming restoration of two of the Arnold Arboretum s most well-loved water bodies, Faxon and Rehder Ponds. Both provide habitat for wildlife and visual delight for humans, and also are part of an essential drainage network within the Arboretum’s landscape.

Upcoming Haiku & You Writing Workshop:  11 a.m. April 17. Free. For information: https://arboretum.harvard.edu/events. Come together to learn about and write haiku. This participatory, virtual workshop allows you to collaborate with others to consider and compose contemporary haiku. Space is limited to 12 persons. Once interested participants submitted the form, the Arnold Arboretum will contact them to confirm participation. Interested participants are not enrolled until they are contacted and confirmed by the arboretum. Sheryl White has led haiku and other poetry workshops.
