we encourage all schools, public or private, houses of worship, businesses, anyone that has any concerning behavior, they should report it. allow law enforcement the opportunity to make the situation safe. to say there is nothing to it, or we need to look deeper. that s what we want to do. it s not a burden. we encourage people, wherever they are, if they re concerned about something, let us know. let your local police know.cern that constitute threats? i don t want to get too awfully into what was concerning because then i get into the actual content. but, you know, it s one of those things. if someone looks at it and you go, oh, that doesn t seem right, whether it is threatening or disturbing or maybe they re
empowered to put the school in a lockdown. so a groundskeeper or janitor, i can t remember his actual position, saw the person with the firearm go into the school and called it out on the radio. the school went into lockdown. they still had, i believe, one or two students killed, but everybody else was in lockdown. the police were able to get there before anymore perished. processes, training, communication, that s some of the best paths that we ve seen in terms of success. sheriff, will you be releasing any video footage from the school? no. at this point, that would become a handoff to the prosecutor for evidence. recent update. the 14-year-old with the gunshot wound to the hand and jaw has been discharged. any update on the young girl described yesterday on a
the investigation. you know, up until this point, police have not been able to question this suspect because he is a minor. his parents did not give them permission to ask any questions of him. his parents suggested that he ask for an attorney. so he has not been cooperating. they want to know the motive. they want to know how he got that gun into the school. the school doesn t have metal detecters, but they want to know how he got possession of the gun, how he got it into the school, and they want to learn more about why he did it. if there is any motive. one question that was interesting that we didn t hear the prosecutor answer, that she avoided, was whether or not any of the victims were targeted. she said that is under investigation at this point, and that is likely something we ll hear about, if not in the days to come, definitely in the foreseeable future. shaq brewster outside, of course, the sheriff s office in oakland county, thank you. as we mentioned, we are waiting for t
