On the cold morning of February 11, 2021 Mr. Leslie Noble Pugh, age 91 years, left this world to reunite with Mae, likely on an ice fishing trip or some such adventure.
Leslie was born in Bracken, Saskatchewan on July 5, 1929 to Ada and Samuel Pugh. At age 12 (1941) Leslie and his dad hopped into a cattle box car and rode the train for several days until they reached The Lakehead. The family eventually settled in Westfort.
In his younger days, Les worked on a number of lakers travelling from The Lakehead to the Atlantic Ocean. He always had a story to tell about his adventures to anyone who would listen. After his shipping days Les went on to be a weldor at CanCar where he “burned at least 8 million sticks and always kept the bead straight” until his retirement in 1994.
