LIMERICK ALL-IRELAND winner Tom Condon has announced his inter-county retirements after 12 seasons on the senior squad.
Condon came on as an injury-time substitute in the 2018 All-Ireland final and it was he who made the vital late catch to help his side hold on for victory, ending the county’s 45-year wait for Liam MacCarthy Cup glory.

A NATIONAL League medal, Celtic Cross and being hot favourite for Hurler of the Year isn’t enough for Gearoid Hegarty in 2020 – he now has his sights set on the Young Scientist competition!
“Hego” to his teammates, it is Mr Hegarty to his students in Desmond College, Newcastle West, two of whom have designed a polarised, anti-bacterial face shield for use with hurling helmets. It is one of the school’s 10 entries in the upcoming BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition.

A LIMERICK man witnessed history – before going on to make some himself hours later in the USA.
Huge hurling fan Michael J Dowling, who heads up the American not-for-profit health firm Northwell, witnessed his native county win their second All-Ireland in three years.
And the morning after, the Knockaderry man was at the centre of another landmark occasion as he oversaw the administration of the first Covid-19 vaccine near his island in Long Island, New York.
